Biden criticizes China in face of Li Keqiang… “Fear of coercion”

The conflict between the US and China, which has been going on since the Trump administration, continues to the Biden administration.

If former President Trump went out to beat China alone, President Biden is characterized by hitting with his allies.

President Biden was determined to criticize China in front of Premier Li Keqiang as well as other Asian leaders.

US President Joe Biden attended the East Asia Summit, EAS, held via video.

The leaders of 18 countries, including ASEAN, Korea, the United States, China, and Japan, have held annual meetings.

Former President Donald Trump has been absent from the meeting for the past four years, but President Biden’s presence sends the message that he is focusing on Asia against China, which seeks to expand its influence in the region.

President Biden, who has recently sparked controversy by saying that China will defend Taiwan if it attacks, criticized China head-on while Premier Li Keqiang watched.

Following concerns that China’s actions toward Taiwan were coercive, they also discussed human rights in Xinjiang and Tibet, and the rights of Hong Kong residents.

The White House said in a press release that President Biden reaffirmed his continued commitment to the Indo-Pacific region.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who had a videoconference with President Biden for the first time since taking office earlier this month, also joined the US position.

As China and Japan continue to dispute territorial disputes over the Senkaku Islands and the Diaoyu Islands, Prime Minister Kishida particularly focused on maritime security issues.

Premier Li Keqiang is known to have appealed for the prosperity of East Asia without directly mentioning the United States and others.
