President Biden, who visited Rome, Italy to attend the G20 summit of 20 major countries, went to the French Embassy in person to meet with President Emmanuel Macron.

This is the first meeting since the two countries blushed in the process of establishing the security alliance ‘Ocus’ with Britain and Australia. President Biden lowered himself.

“What we did was clumsy, to use the English phrase. It wasn’t handled elegantly. I don’t think that should have happened.”

In effect, it was a public apology.

Last month, Australia canceled a submarine supply contract with France while agreeing to receive support from the United States to develop nuclear-powered submarines in conjunction with the establishment of Orcus.

President Biden, who directly resolved the conflict after more than a month, said that “there is no other ally that is as old and faithful to the United States as France” and “France is an extremely valuable partner.”

To this, President Macron responded that the future was what both countries should see, but added a bone-in-the-bone answer that such a thing should never happen again.

“Now the important thing is to make it clear that such a situation cannot happen again in the future.”

To the reporter’s question about whether bilateral relations have been restored, he answered, “It is important what we do together in the future.”

After the summit, the two countries issued a joint statement confirming the strengthening of cooperation in checks and checks with China. A high-level U.S. official said that much of the meeting was devoted to discussing China.
