Inner Mongolia, China’s largest snowfall in 70 years… 1m down
Record-breaking heavy snowfall has caused a lot of damage in northeastern China and Inner Mongolia.
According to CCTV in China, it snowed for 46 consecutive hours until the morning of the 9th local time in the Tongliao area of Inner Mongolia, and the cumulative snowfall amounted to 59 centimeters.
In some parts of the mountains, more than 1 meter of snow fell.
More than 4,000 buildings were damaged in the heavy snowfall, officials said.
In the Harbin region of Heilongjiang Province, power supply to 720,000 households was cut off due to heavy snow at one time, and many agricultural facilities were damaged in the Liaoning Province area as well.
