Vaccine manufacturers “start developing booster shot” due to the emergence of Omicron mutation

Vaccine developers are also swiftly responding to the emergence of the feared mutant ‘Omicron’ of Corona 19.

Moderna said in a statement on the 26th local time that it had started developing booster shots to counter the Omicron mutation.

He explained that it usually takes 60 to 90 days for the first experimental vaccine to be made.

BioNtech, which co-developed the vaccine with Pfizer, also said that the results of Omicron’s analysis would be released in two weeks.

“A new vaccine tailored to the new strain can be shipped within 100 days,” the manufacturer said.

US pharmaceutical companies Novavax and Johnson & Johnson are also known to be testing the effectiveness of the vaccine and analysis of the new mutation.
