South Korea and the US fire in response to North Korea’s medium-range missiles… 1 camel in Gangneung

[앵커]

Yesterday (4th), South Korea and the United States fired a missile face-to-face in response to North Korea’s intermediate-range ballistic missile launch.

This is an additional response following the combined strike squadron’s precision bombing exercise.

For more information, let’s contact a reporter from the Ministry of National Defence.

Yes, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said yesterday (the 4th) that it had fired four combined surface-to-surface missiles.

In this firing, a total of four shots were fired into the East Sea, two from the South Korean military and two from the USFK.

Yesterday (4th), the South Korean-US joint attack squadron fired two ‘J-DAM’ bombs, a direct hit on the joint air-to-ground in the West Sea, and this is an additional response.

However, controversy is expected as it was revealed that one of South Korea’s Hyunmoo-2 missiles flew abnormally during the fire and landed in Gangneung.

The fire department received a report that the sound of an explosion was heard from the fighter wing in Gangneung last night (4th), and evacuated it after being told that it was training.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the army is investigating the exact cause.

While the level of North Korean provocations is strengthening, it seems difficult to avoid criticism that our anti-fire was not perfect.

Regarding the response, the Joint Chiefs of Staff explained, “North Korea has maintained a constant vigilance posture regardless of where it provokes, showing that it has the ability and willingness to neutralize the source of the provocation.”

He also explained, “We are always fully prepared to guarantee a resounding victory.”

North Korean state media remains silent about yesterday’s launch of a medium-range ballistic missile.
