On the 26th, presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol strongly criticized the government’s policy of compensating for the loss of nuclear power through the electricity fund, saying, “Why should the people be responsible for the disaster caused by ignorance?”

On the same day, Candidate Yoon posted on his Facebook, “The nuclear phase out is a disaster caused by the ignorance of the Moon Jae-in government. Why should the government always do the work and the people should be held accountable?”

Earlier, on the 25th, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy confirmed a plan to compensate for the loss of five nuclear power plants caused by the phase out of nuclear power with the Electricity Fund. The Electricity Fund, which is created with electricity bills paid by the people, is a public interest fund created to supply power to islands and remote areas. According to Rep. Han Moo-kyung of People’s Strength, the loss of nuclear power plants is estimated at 555.2 billion won at Wolsong Unit 1, 97.9 billion won at Cheonji Units 1 and 2, and 3.4 billion won at Daejin Units 1 and 2.

Candidate Yoon said, “In the case of Wolsong Unit 1, it is contradictory to make the decision to close or permanently stop Wolsong Unit 1 due to lack of economic feasibility and compensate for the loss with the fund itself. A government that wastes money.” “The only way out of the situation such as the post-nuclear power plant is through the post-Moon Jae-in regime and the post-democratic party,” he said. Candidate Yoon met with Japanese Ambassador to Korea Koichi Aiboshi at the People’s Power Party on the same day and said, “Only if Korea-Japan relations are resolved smoothly, 450,000 Koreans living abroad in Japan will be comfortable.” Candidate Yoon also demanded, “There are cases where our international students and successful applicants do not get their visas so they cannot go to (Japan). Ambassador Aiboshi replied, “I will do that,” said Yangsoo Lee, senior spokesperson for the interview.

Ambassador Aiboshi said, “When I first came to Korea (1998), after the Kim Dae-jung-Obuchi Declaration, Korea-Japan relations were at a good time. For Japanese (Japanese) women, Korea ranked first.”

Candidate Yoon said, “When Bae Yong-joon (the drama in which Mr. He added, “The ambassador has one thing in common with me. I heard that you like Shin Seung-hoon’s ‘Invisible Love’, but it was my ’18’ in the past.”
