Yoon Seok-yeol’s takeover committee did not clearly explain the argument against the 1st dismissal

On the 29th, lawyer Jo Sang-gyu, who was fired from the Presidential Transition Committee for security reasons, said, “No one, including Chairman Ahn Cheol-soo and Rep. Park Seong-joong, knew about the dismissal.” “I think someone is privatizing it. What kind of fairness and common sense?” he insisted. Attorney Cho mentioned the real names of Kwon Young-se, vice chairman of the transition committee and members of the science and technology education subcommittee, and mentioned ‘reason’ and ‘gap-jil’, but the transition committee only repeated the position at an official briefing that “we do not feel the need to respond”. confirmed the facts. There is a reaction that the suspicions are still not resolved by the attitude of the takeover committee.

Earlier on the 28th, TV Chosun reported that lawyer Cho, a working member of the Science and Technology Education Division of the Transition Committee, disclosed the contents of the workshop PPT and publicized that he went to an external lecture as a member of the Transition Committee. The transition committee announced that “the dismissal of one working member has been completed” through a notice to the press group on the same day.

Attorney Cho, who was in charge of the ‘suspicion of indictment’ that emerged during the presidential election, held a press conference in front of the Transition Committee in Tongui-dong, Seoul on the 29th and explained about the violation of the security of the elected security vehicle’s selfie, the leak of workshop lectures, and lectures outside the transition committee. Regarding the security vehicle, he explained that there were many photos of the car number already exposed, there was no logo of the commissioning committee related to the workshop materials, and it was a lecture plan that could be given if a lecture was requested from anywhere. There was no instruction from the transition committee not to give lectures, and there was also a protest about whether to take issue with other issues related to security violations. He also said that he had not been directly notified of the dismissal.

Regarding the reason for the dismissal, lawyer Cho said, “I can’t say exactly, but I had a final contest with (Kwon Young-se), the vice chairman of the transition committee, in Yongsan-gu. Lawyer Cho also exposed allegations of ‘gap-jil’, such as that Kim Chang-kyung, a member of the Korea Communications Commission, told her ministries that she did not watch the broadcast she appeared on, or ordered ‘mental education’ in the ministry’s business report. At the press conference, he said, “Secretary Park Seong-joong (Science and Technology Education Division) asked ‘Why are you on a bad relationship with Rep. Kwon Young-se?’ and I heard from Kwon Young-se’s team that I joined the transition committee and had an uproar.”

At the briefing of the transition committee that afternoon, Won Il-hee, senior deputy spokesperson for the transition committee, said, “I have heard the press conference (attorney Cho’s) and decided to resign voluntarily, so I do not think it is a matter that will respond to each and every word the person in charge says.” I have no intention of paying.”

When asked again about the ‘official reason for the dismissal,’ Won said, “There was no reason for the dismissal in the past when he resigned. Because he expressed his intention to resign, it is not advisable to disclose the reason for the dismissal separately.”

‘Nevertheless, lawyer Cho mentioned the name of the transition committee member and the name of the vice chairman, but shouldn’t there be an official position? When a similar incident occurs, the reporter repeated the answer, “I do not feel the need to respond to each and every individual resigning voluntarily.”

Attorney Cho’s argument is gaining strength as the transition committee does not refute or provide specific explanations about the exposure of lawyer Cho.

The transition committee, which did not respond to the official briefing, added additional explanations to reporters at a later back briefing. Rep. Cheol-gyu Lee of People’s Power, who served as the general assistant to the elected president, confirmed the claim of lawyer Cho to the effect that ‘the facts are correct’ about the suspicions related to member Kim Chang-kyung, although there are disagreements as to whether or not there is power in the country. However, he insisted that lawyer Cho was the person to leave before the TV Chosun report.

A reporter from the transition committee told Media Today on the same day, “Attorney Cho legitimately complained of injustice at the press conference, but why does he not answer at the briefing and do it as a back briefing? I have doubts whether this is the right thing to do.” “If you look at the back briefing, there is a saying about lawyer Cho, ‘He was a person who went out on his own before the news came out. I’m not going,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to the Maeil Business News report on the same day, the transition committee fired Prof. Cheol-wan Park (professor), who is also suspected of embezzling research funds, following lawyer Cho, and began the recruitment process for these two positions.
