On the 28th, the ‘2023 Pyeongchang Daegwallyeong Naked Marathon’ was held in Daegwallyeong, where the perceived temperature reached -25 degrees Celsius, running naked against the wind.
Around 500 men and women in their 10s to 80s took part in this competition, which was held for the first time in three years due to the Corona 19 event.
On this morning, the lowest temperature in Daegwallyeong in the morning was minus 17.4, and the felt temperature was higher than minus 25 degrees Celsius.
Even at 11:00 am, the start time of the marathon, it was 11.9 degrees below zero. The perceived temperature reached minus 18.5 degrees.
Male runners wear shorts or long tights with their tops off, and female runners wear shorts or long tights over a short-sleeved T-shirt and run the 5km and 10km.
Some participants were present with their family names or writings reaffirming New Year’s resolutions on their bodies. Some participants wore bunny hats or had faces painted on their faces to celebrate the Year of the Cat.
