PKP Intercity announced the deployment of substitute wagon compositions for selected Intercity (IC) trains on April 26, 2026, due to operational requirements affecting regular rolling stock availability.
The official statement, published on the carrier’s press office website, specifies that the following IC services will operate with alternative wagon sets on that date: IC nr 2621 „ŁYSICA” running between Kielce Główne and Wrocław Główny will consist of one first-class wagon and three second-class wagons, including one wagon adapted for passengers with reduced mobility using wheelchairs.
IC nr 7500/1 „BAŁTYK” on the Poznań Główny – Gdynia Główna route will be formed of one first-class wagon and six second-class wagons, also including one wheelchair-accessible wagon, though no dining car will be part of the composition.
For IC nr 3202/3 „JADWIGA” operating from Kraków Główny to Lublin Główny, the substitute composition includes one first-class wagon and six second-class wagons, with one wagon adapted for wheelchair users. The return service, IC nr 2302/3 „JADWIGA” from Lublin Główny to Kraków Główny, will have the same wagon configuration: one first-class, six second-class, and one accessible wagon.
IC nr 5360/1 „WITKACY” on the Gdynia Główna – Zakopane route, specifically on the section between Gdynia Główna and Łódź Kaliska, will operate with one first-class wagon and six second-class wagons, including one wheelchair-accessible wagon, and without a dining car in the consist.
PKP Intercity advises passengers that due to these changes, seat assignments may differ from those indicated on their tickets. Travelers are encouraged to check information displays inside the wagons upon boarding.
The carrier reiterates that passengers retain the right to file complaints regarding travel comfort related to the substitute compositions.
