San Diego State has secured the No. 1 seed for the championship after finishing the regular season with a 16-8 record in conference play. This result marks the program’s fourth Mountain West regular-season title and its third outright crown, representing its first title since 2023. San Diego State is making its 23rd postseason tournament appearance and its second consecutive appearance.
Washington State enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed. The Cougars finished league action with a 15-9 record and earned the seed by winning the head-to-head tiebreaker over Air Force. This marks the first Mountain West appearance for the Washington State program.
Both San Diego State and Washington State have been awarded first-round byes. Under the tournament structure, San Diego State will face the winner of game two, while Washington State will face the winner of game one on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Air Force is the No. 3 seed, also concluding the regular season with a 15-9 conference record. The Falcons are making their 15th postseason appearance in program history and their first since 2024. The program previously won its first postseason tournament title in 2022.
Nevada has been designated as the No. 4 seed following a regular season record of 13-11. This represents the 10th postseason tournament appearance for the Wolf Pack and their second consecutive appearance.

The tournament schedule begins on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The second game of the opening day will feature a matchup between Nevada and New Mexico. The first pitch for this game is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PT.
