Blizzard Entertainment has announced a series of class tuning hotfixes scheduled for April 7, 2026, aimed at adjusting performance across various character specializations in World of Warcraft.
The updates focus on balancing underperforming specifications in both raid environments and Mythic+ dungeons, while also addressing survivability for tank roles to reduce performance gaps between different specifications.
PvE and Tank Adjustments
According to Blizzard, the PvE tuning pass is specifically designed to increase the viability of specs that are currently underperforming. A significant portion of the update is dedicated to tank tuning, where adjustments are being made to most tank specifications to improve their overall survivability.
Specific changes noted in the update include buffs for Rogues and Balance Druids. Windwalker Monk is receiving an area-of-effect (AoE) buff, although these changes are listed under the Brewmaster section of the tuning notes.
Conversely, Brewmaster Monk is slated for nerfs as part of this balancing effort.
PvP Balance and Burst Reduction
The April 7 update extends into the game’s PvP systems. Blizzard stated that they are continuing to buff underperforming specifications in PvP while simultaneously monitoring the balance of healer roles.
A primary objective for the PvP tuning is the reduction of burst damage to create a more stable competitive environment.
Implementation Details
The changes are set to take effect during the April 7 reset. This tuning pass involves eight different classes and includes a wide array of adjustments to ensure spec parity across the game’s various combat roles.
For our PvE tuning this week, we are taking another pass focused on increasing underperforming specs in both raid and Mythic+ dungeons. We are making a few adjustments for most tank specs to increase their survivability and to help bridge the gap between tank performance.
