Motorcyclist Dies at Vernon Mount Motocross Event

A motorcyclist ⁤in his ⁣40s died following an accident during a motocross event at Vernon Mount in Cork ‍City on September 20, 2025. Gardaí (Irish police) and teh National‍ Ambulance Service responded to the scene at approximately 1:30 PM. The man,⁤ a resident of County Cork, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have initiated a garda inquiry, and a postmortem examination is scheduled at Cork University Hospital to determine the cause of death. The ⁢Coroner has been notified, and ‍an inquest will ⁢be conducted.

Construction Worker Fatality in Ballycotton

Separately, Stuart Daly, 40, of Knonagraigue, Corofin, County Clare, died on Thursday, September ‍19, 2025, after‍ being struck by a dumper truck on Church Road in Ballycotton, County Cork. Mr.Daly was working in the area at the time of the incident.

Emergency services arrived promptly, but Mr. Daly was pronounced dead shortly after the accident. His‍ body was transported to ⁤Cork University Hospital, where a postmortem examination was performed.

Garda forensic collision investigators have⁢ examined the ‍site, and a joint investigation is underway involving the gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) to⁣ determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. the HSA investigates workplace⁤ fatalities⁣ and serious injuries in Ireland to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Funeral arrangements ⁤for Stuart Daly

Mr. Daly is survived by his wife, Alison; their son, Dorian; his⁤ mother, Trish; ⁣three sisters; and a wide circle of family and friends.⁣ A ⁢funeral mass will⁣ be held at St. Brigid’s Church in corofin at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 22, 2025, followed by burial at ⁢Laghtagoona Cemetery.
