Business power across the Asia-Pacific region is shifting toward technology and finance sectors as Fortune released its third annual Most Powerful Women Asia list on October 6, 2026, featuring 100 leaders spanning 14 markets. DBS Group CEO Tan Su Shan retains the No. 1 position on the ranking, according to coverage published by Fortune and PR Newswire.
Tan Su Shan Retains Top Ranking as Regional Leadership Evolves
Tan Su Shan holds the top position after making history in March 2025 as the first woman to lead DBS, which operates as Southeast Asia’s largest bank. Grace Wang maintains the No. 2 position as Chairwoman and CEO of Luxshare Precision Industry, while technology entrepreneur Zhou Qunfei climbs 25 places to secure the No. 3 spot as Founder and Chairwoman of Lens Technology, PR Newswire reported.
The 2026 ranking includes 76 returning honorees alongside 24 newcomers. Mainland China accounts for the largest share of leaders on the list with 18 selections, followed by Hong Kong SAR with 16 and Singapore with 12, according to PR Newswire.
Technology and Banking Sectors Lead 2026 Roster
Technology emerges as the most represented sector on the 2026 roster with 16 honorees, surpassing banking, which claims 14 spots, PR Newswire reported. That concentration highlights how digital platforms and advanced manufacturing are reshaping corporate influence throughout the Asia-Pacific economy.
Prominent technology and finance leaders named on the list include Huawei Deputy Chairwoman, Rotating Chairwoman and CFO Meng Wanzhou at No. 4, alongside ByteDance CFO Julie Gao at No. 15, and Sony Group CFO and Corporate Executive Officer Lin Tao at No. 20. Fortune noted that Huawei posted 881 billion yuan, equivalent to $126 billion, in revenue for 2025.
Fortune Evaluates Leadership Roles for 2026 Honorees
The expanded evaluation recognizes 25 honorees who hold global or regional leadership roles at Fortune Global 500 corporations, alongside 23 executives serving as CEOs, chairs, or other C-suite executives at Fortune Southeast Asia 500 companies. Fortune stated that candidates were evaluated based on the scale and performance of their organizations, career trajectory, influence, innovation, and broader societal impact.
