Thor Hushovd Secures Major Signing for Uno-X Mobility
Uno-X Mobility General Manager Thor Hushovd called the acquisition a “big signing” during the team’s press announcement. Hushovd stated that Sheffield possesses enormous potential that has not yet been fully realized.
Magnus is a rider with enormous potential, and I don’t think we have seen the full extent of it yet. He has already finished fourth in Paris-Nice and sixth in [the Tour of] Flanders. That tells you a lot about the range he has.
Thor Hushovd
Hushovd added that the team intends to provide an environment where Sheffield can develop into one of the sport’s leading riders. The Norwegian squad has never had any riders from countries other than Norway and Denmark, making Sheffield’s dual citizenship and language skills a natural cultural fit.

Language is an important part of the identity we have built as a team. Magnus understands the culture and can become part of it naturally from day one. And on top of everything he can do on the bike, he is an incredibly good guy.

Family Roots and Career Palmarès Shape the Transfer
Sheffield’s personal connections to Scandinavia include his mother who grew up in Gjøvik and most of his family who now live in the Oslo area. Sheffield explained that his parents felt it was very important to preserve Norwegian traditions in their US home, utilizing the language as a secret family language during their childhood.
I had already spoken with Uno-X once, when I was still a junior. It was never a question of whether I would ever ride for the team, but when. Moving to Uno-X Mobility feels like coming full circle.

Sheffield’s professional record includes winning De Brabantse Pijl during his first WorldTour season, alongside stage victories in Paris-Nice and the Vuelta a Andalucia. He has also secured podium finishes at the Tour of Norway and Tour of Denmark, placed fourth overall in Paris-Nice, and finished fifth in the Tour de Pologne.
Roster Shuffling at Netcompany Ineos and Uno-X Mobility
Sheffield departs a Netcompany Ineos squad that is also losing its other two US riders ahead of the 2027 season. AJ August is transferring to Pinarello Q36.5, while Artem Shmidt is moving to NSN Cycling.
Sheffield will enter the 2027 Uno-X Mobility setup alongside fellow incoming riders Casper Pedersen from Soudal-Quickstep, Felix Ørn-Kristoff from Lotto Intermarché, and Kristian Egholm from Lidl-Trek Future Racing. The British outfit Netcompany Ineos has not yet announced additions for 2027 outside of double junior world champion Benjamin Noval.
