Minnesota Gophers vs. UW Badgers Spring Volleyball Match Canceled

The scheduled spring volleyball match between the University of Minnesota Gophers and the University of Wisconsin Badgers has been canceled. The contest was originally set to take place on April 10, 2026, at the Sonnentag in Eau Claire.

The University of Wisconsin announced the cancellation on April 3, 2026, stating that the decision was made as a precaution for the team’s health and safety.

Further details regarding the cancellation indicate that the Minnesota program is currently managing injuries to several players. A spokesperson for the Gophers told WKOW that the team is dealing with injuries to multiple players, while a source told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Minnesota did not have enough available players to compete.

Both programs have confirmed that the match will not be rescheduled. This cancellation reduces the total number of spring matches on the 2026 schedule for the Wisconsin Badgers.

The Gophers have faced additional scheduling disruptions this spring. A match against Iowa State scheduled for April 3, 2026, was also canceled, which was officially described as a decision by both teams.

Remaining Wisconsin Spring Schedule

Despite the cancellation of the Minnesota match, the Wisconsin Badgers have two remaining exhibitions on their spring calendar.
