MSNBC Prepares for New York Headquarters move
Updated June 03, 2025
MSNBC is gearing up for a critically important transition, with plans to move its New York headquarters from 30 Rock. The network will temporarily set up shop at 229 West 43rd Street in August, according to Jeff Mayzurk, Versant’s president of operations and technology.
The temporary location, formerly occupied by Buzzfeed and currently housing Snap Inc., has been nicknamed “Summer Camp.” Mayzurk cited its studio and production capabilities, along with its central location, as key factors in the selection. This move is part of a larger restructuring that will see MSNBC and CNBC join Versant, a Comcast-owned group of linear assets.
While the temporary space addresses immediate needs, the company is actively seeking a permanent headquarters in New York City. Concurrently, Versant is finalizing office plans across its global operations to ensure a smooth transition for all employees.
In Washington, D.C., MSNBC’s office space at 400 North Capitol Street has been renovated. It will be located on the 8th floor, sharing the building with NBC News’ D.C. bureau. CNBC, meanwhile, will remain at its established Englewood Cliffs, N.J., location, which will also serve as Versant’s technical operations hub. Some of MSNBC’s technical staff will also be based in New Jersey.
Versant, formerly known internally as SpinCo, officially adopted its new name in early May. CEO Mark Lazarus described the name as embodying “a blueprint for versatility, growth, and innovation.” The move represents a strategic realignment within Comcast, impacting both MSNBC’s physical presence and its organizational structure.
What’s next
MSNBC will continue to broadcast from 30 Rock until the August relocation. Further details regarding the permanent New York headquarters and other global office plans are expected to be announced in the coming months as Versant finalizes its long-term strategy.
