The accident occurred while the crane was engaged in lifting a weight of approximately 17 tons. The operation was part of a project to install a large-scale storage battery at the site, according to reports from FNN Prime Online and TNC News.
As the crane overturned, steel plates loaded on the vehicle’s bed slid and fell, trapping the worker. The man was subsequently transported to a hospital, where he remains unconscious and in critical condition.
In a separate but related incident at the same construction site, an excavator fell from a slope. TBS News Dig reported that this second accident left another male worker unconscious and in critical condition.
The construction site was located adjacent to the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line.
