Pakistan Supreme Court Ruling
The Supreme Court of Pakistan ruled the petitions challenging funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as infructuous on January 11,2026. This decision means the court will not further consider the challenges to the ADB’s financial support for projects within Pakistan.
The dismissal stems from the petitioners’ failure to demonstrate a continuing legal dispute. The court found that the issues raised had either been resolved or were no longer relevant given the progression of the funded projects.
According to a press release from the Supreme Court, the bench, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, stated that pursuing the matter further would serve no practical purpose.
