How the Virtual POS Works
The Virtual POS allows businesses to manage recurring payments efficiently. Customers receive a link to register their card, authorize the transaction through their bank’s online banking platform, and enroll in the payment plan. Crucially, customer card data is not shared with the business, enhancing security and privacy. The system supports multiple card registrations per customer, offering flexibility within the agreed-upon payment plan.
Benefits for Businesses
BBVA emphasizes that the Virtual POS reduces the administrative burden associated with manual quota management. Automation minimizes errors and provides complete traceability of each transaction directly within the platform. This leads to more efficient collection processes and greater financial predictability for businesses.
According to Antonio Macías, Director of Retail Solutions at BBVA in Spain, the system is designed to be “real support” for businesses adopting subscription or recurring charge models. “Being able to register customers in a simple way and letting the tool manage the rest helps free up time and improve the day-to-day life of those who run a business,” Macías stated in a BBVA press release.
Enhanced Customer Experience
The Virtual POS prioritizes a user-friendly experience for customers. The process involves a single registration and the assurance of payments being made on scheduled dates. This simplifies routines, eliminates the risk of forgotten payments, and reduces needless procedures – features increasingly valued by customers using recurring services.
BBVA’s Continued Digital Expansion
The launch of the Virtual POS is part of BBVA’s broader strategy to expand its digital capabilities for businesses. BBVA aims to facilitate more efficient collection processes and provide tools that streamline financial operations for its clients.
