For 17 years, Shanghai Electric has expanded its presence across North, East, and West Africa. The company has developed numerous power transmission and distribution projects, notably:

Djibouti’s Railway Electrification (2014): Shanghai Electric built a 230kV substation and 83.85 kilometers of transmission lines to supply power to the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway.

Ethiopia’s Transmission Network (2008): The company completed eight major projects, including the BBDA 400kV transmission line and Renaissance Dam transmission systems, totaling 1,115 kilometers of high-voltage transmission lines and 11 substations.

Angola’s Urban Revitalization (2020): Shanghai Electric modernized power grids in Huambo and Caála, benefiting one million residents and numerous businesses with stable electricity access.
- Nigeria’s Grid Modernization: In Lagos, the company upgraded ten substations to enhance electricity reliability and completed two major substations, benefiting over 500,000 residents.
