The university is currently led by President Gerson Moreno-RiaƱo. Financial data from 2025 indicates an endowment of $17.8 million. As of 2024, the student population was reported at 1,735, while 2020 data showed a total enrollment of 1,998 students, a figure that included those in professional and graduate studies and both seminaries.

The university’s 130-acre suburban campus is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, the National Association of Schools of Music, and the Association of Theological Schools in the United States, and Canada. The Council on Social Work Education accredits the university’s social work program.

Athletic Program and Competitive Standing

Cornerstone University operates an extensive athletic department known as the Golden Eagles. The university is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC).

Athletic Program and Competitive Standing

The athletics program consists of 16 men’s and women’s teams. To date, these teams have secured three national championships and 64 conference championships.

  • Men’s Sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling.

Recent competitive achievements include the Track and Field program earning an NAIA Champion and 12 All-Americans. In the cross country program, Jason Schalk was named the WHAC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.

The university also participates in the Champions of Character program, an NAIA initiative focused on sportsmanship, servant leadership, responsibility, respect, and athletic integrity. Cornerstone athletes have been honored twice for their adherence to these standards.

Academic and Media Extensions

Beyond traditional classroom instruction, the university maintains a presence in media through Cornerstone Radio, which encompasses WCSG, WNHG, and Mission Network News. The university also manages Mission Network News (MNN), described as an evangelical broadcast ministry.

The institution emphasizes a marketplace-aligned approach to its degree programs, aiming to combine professional preparation with Christ-centered instruction across its academic catalog.
