Governor Matt Meyer has announced the opening of the application period for a student representative position on the Delaware State Board of Education for the 2026-2027 academic year. The initiative is designed to integrate a student perspective into the decision-making processes that directly impact classrooms across the state.

The opportunity is open to Delaware high school students who will be entering their junior or senior year of high school in the fall. Eligible students who are passionate about public education are encouraged to apply for the role to help shape education policy on a statewide level.

Role and Responsibilities

The selected student will serve a one-year term beginning in July. While the position is non-voting, the student member will maintain an advisory role and participate in monthly board meetings.
