The opportunity is open to Delaware high school students who will be entering their junior or senior year of high school in the fall. Eligible students who are passionate about public education are encouraged to apply for the role to help shape education policy on a statewide level.
Role and Responsibilities
The selected student will serve a one-year term beginning in July. While the position is non-voting, the student member will maintain an advisory role and participate in monthly board meetings.
In this capacity, the student representative will provide input and weigh in on several critical educational topics, including:
- Curriculum decisions
- Graduation requirements
- School accountability

Interested candidates must submit their applications by 5:00 p.m. On Thursday, April 30, 2026. State officials have specified that incomplete applications will not be considered for the position.
