Europe Floods: Death Toll Rises to 18 as Storm Boris Brings Destruction
Europe is still reeling from the devastating effects of floods. According to a report by AFP on September 17th, the central region of Europe has been severely impacted by Storm Boris, which has been raging on since last week. The death toll has risen to at least 18.
The victims include 7 people in Romania, 4 in Poland, 4 in Austria, and 3 in the Czech Republic. Rescue teams in several countries are still racing against time to locate many missing people.
Meanwhile, the level of the Danube River in the Slovak Republic or Slovakia on Monday, September 16, stood at 926 centimeters (or 9.26 meters) and submerged parts of Bratislava.
Slovak authorities warned that the water level would rise to more than 950 centimeters (9.50 meters) by Tuesday morning local time.
