Sporting CP have removed Peruvian midfielder Erick Noriega from their transfer plans, according to Portuguese sports newspaper Record.

The decision comes after the club monitored the player’s situation amid reported interest from other European teams. Noriega, who has been linked with a move away from Alianza Lima, was previously reported to be on Sporting’s radar as a potential target for the upcoming transfer window.

Record reports that Sporting’s technical staff has concluded that Noriega no longer fits within their current sporting plans, leading to his exclusion from any immediate transfer considerations. The club has not issued an official statement on the matter.

Noriega, a product of Alianza Lima’s youth system, has established himself as a key midfielder for the Peruvian Primera División club. His performances in domestic competition and international tournaments have attracted attention from several clubs across South America and Europe.
