The Postal Service Headquarters of the Ministry of Science and ICT announced on April 6, 2026, that the stamp will be issued in October.

The stamp issuance follows other high-level national recognitions for the 30-year-old athlete. On January 2, 2026, Lee received the Cheongryong Medal, also known as the Blue Dragon Medal, which is the highest grade of the Order of Sports Merit. The medal was presented by President Lee Jae-myung during a New Year reception at the Blue House State Guesthouse, with First Lady Kim Hye-kyung in attendance.
The Cheongryong Medal has historically been reserved for world champions and Olympic gold medalists who have dominated their respective fields, such as soccer star Son Heung-min, figure skating legend Kim Yuna, and archery champion Kim Woo-jin. Lee was awarded the honor for his outstanding meritorious services in elevating the international reputation of South Korea through e-sports.

Since his professional debut in 2013, Lee Sang-hyeok has established himself as one of the greatest players in e-sports history. His career is marked by an unprecedented level of longevity and success in a field where active professional careers are typically short.
