Drug Trafficking Operation Dismantled in Southeastern Massachusetts
FALL RIVER, Mass. — A major drug trafficking operation distributing fentanyl and cocaine across several South Coast communities has been disrupted following a series of raids and arrests, Massachusetts State Police announced. The operation, investigated throughout 2025, culminated in search warrant executions on , leading to the seizure of firearms, narcotics, and a significant amount of cash.
Daryl Fennell of Fall River and Lincoln Green of New Bedford were taken into custody following the coordinated searches. Both men are facing numerous drug and firearms charges, with formal charges expected to be filed in court following arraignment, according to authorities.
The Massachusetts State Police Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team (CINRET) South unit initiated the investigation in 2025, focusing on an alleged drug trafficking operation impacting communities throughout the region. The investigation led to search warrants being executed at two residences in Fall River, one residence in New Bedford, five vehicles, and one landscaping trailer.
During the searches, investigators seized seven firearms, including six handguns and one rifle. Four high-capacity magazines and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were also recovered. The narcotics seized included approximately one kilogram of cocaine, three kilograms of fentanyl, and an additional three kilograms of a fentanyl mixture.
Authorities also recovered approximately $100,000 in U.S. Currency. The seizures highlight ongoing enforcement efforts across the South Coast, a region described as including major commuter corridors and residential neighborhoods impacted by fentanyl distribution.
The Massachusetts State Police emphasized that CINRET’s mission is to disrupt and dismantle organized drug trafficking networks and to seize illicit assets connected to narcotics activity. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities indicated that additional charges or arrests are possible.
According to a press release from the state police, sixteen individuals have been charged as a result of the takedown of the major fentanyl and cocaine trafficking operation in Southeastern Massachusetts. The execution of search warrants spanned 20 locations, with a majority of those locations being in Bristol County.
