David Fincher’s 1999 cult classic Fight Club
is receiving its first-ever 4K Ultra HD release. The film is arriving in a special Steelbook edition, which is currently available for preorder through retailers including Amazon, and Walmart.
The 4K restoration of the film was approved by director David Fincher. This high-definition release includes HDR10 support and a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. The Steelbook edition is priced at $40 at Amazon and Walmart, while Barnes & Noble has listed the 4K Ultra HD Special Edition for $44.99.
Shipping for the release is scheduled to begin on May 12, 2026.
Steelbook Design and Packaging
The physical packaging for this release features a minimalist design, with the Steelbook cover depicting a clean bar of soap. The inside jacket of the packaging includes a screenshot from the movie’s finale.
The release is a two-disc set that also includes a digital streaming key for online viewing.

Production and Plot Context
Based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club
follows a protagonist known as Jack
, a man suffering from insomnia and disillusionment with materialism. Jack eventually meets a mysterious man named Tyler Durden, who introduces him to the world of underground fighting and anarchy.
In addition to the home media release, Consequence of Sound reports that the film will also have a one-night return to movie theaters.
