Xiaomi is preparing to launch the REDMI Note 17 Pro+ and Pro Max models with a 200-megapixel main camera and a battery capacity exceeding 7,000 mAh, targeting the upper mid-range smartphone segment with specifications typically found in flagship devices.
The information comes from leaks originating in Chinese social media and supply chain sources, which have shared renders and specification details indicating both models will feature the Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor, a 200MP image sensor capable of pixel binning to improve low-light performance and detail retention in high-resolution mode.
Battery capacity is reported to be 7,100 mAh for the Note 17 Pro+ and 7,500 mAh for the Pro Max variant, both supporting 120W wired fast charging. If confirmed, these would represent some of the largest batteries ever installed in a Xiaomi REDMI Note series device, significantly exceeding the 5,000–5,500 mAh range typical of current mid-range offerings.
Both models are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, an upper-mid-tier processor positioned below the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 but offering improved AI performance and efficiency over previous generations. This chipset supports up to 200MP camera processing, 4K video at 60fps, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing for mobile gaming.
The display is rumored to be a 6.79-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution (2712 x 1220 pixels), and peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits. The screen is expected to feature curved edges on the Pro Max variant, while the Pro+ may retain a flat design.
Camera specifications include a 200MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The 200MP mode will utilize pixel binning technology to combine multiple pixels into larger effective pixels, enhancing sensitivity in low-light conditions while maintaining the option for full-resolution output in well-lit environments.
Software will ship with Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0, Xiaomi’s latest user interface, which includes updated privacy controls, system-wide AI features for photo editing and voice assistance, and improved background process management to support extended battery life despite the high-resolution display and powerful chipset.
Pricing is expected to start below €500 for the base Note 17 Pro+ model, positioning it aggressively against competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy A55, Google Pixel 8a, and OnePlus Nord 4. The Pro Max variant could approach €600, potentially encroaching on lower flagship territory while offering superior battery life and camera resolution.
Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the existence of the REDMI Note 17 Pro+ or Pro Max models. All details remain unverified leaks, and the company has not issued any statement regarding upcoming REDMI Note series releases. Official announcement is anticipated during the second half of 2026, possibly alongside Xiaomi’s fall product launch event.
