Government Unanimously Approves Netanyahu’s Appointment of Tzipi Hotovely as Head of National Public Diplomacy

The Government of Israel unanimously approved the appointment of Tzipi Hotovely as Head of the National Public Diplomacy Directorate in the Prime Minister’s Office on April 26, 2026.
The decision, proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, received full support from all government ministers during the weekly cabinet meeting.
Hotovely will assume the position on May 5, 2026, following the recommendation of the Appointments Committee headed by the Civil Service Commissioner.
In this role, she will lead the National Public Diplomacy Directorate, which operates under the Prime Minister’s Office and is responsible for shaping and communicating Israel’s international image and policy positions.
Hotovely brings extensive government experience to the position, having previously served as Minister of Settlement Affairs, Minister of Diaspora Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister, and Israel’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2020 to 2025.
The Prime Minister and members of the cabinet welcomed the appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to strengthen Israel’s public diplomacy efforts on the global stage.
