Rapper Gucci Mane was allegedly kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint during a business meeting turned violent ambush, according to federal authorities.

The incident, which prosecutors say occurred Jan. 10, is now the focus of a sweeping federal case involving multiple suspects, including fellow rapper Pooh Shiesty.

Authorities allege the meeting was arranged under the guise of discussing a recording contract tied to Gucci Mane’s label.

Instead, investigators say the gathering quickly escalated into what officials described as a “coordinated armed takeover.”

Alleged Setup Turns Violent

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Davis, traveled to a Dallas recording studio with two associates for the meeting.

Once inside, prosecutors allege that Pooh Shiesty produced an AK-style firearm and held the victims at gunpoint.

Officials said one victim was forced to sign documents releasing a recording contract during the encounter.

Other victims were reportedly robbed of high-value items, including Rolex watches, jewelry and cash.

Investigators further allege that additional suspects blocked exits and brandished weapons to prevent escape.

One victim was also physically assaulted and nearly choked unconscious during the incident, prosecutors said.

Nine people have been charged in connection with the case, including Pooh Shiesty and rapper Big30.

If convicted, the defendants could face life sentences.

Arrests and Industry Fallout

Federal authorities announced arrests across multiple cities, including Dallas, Memphis and Nashville.

Eight of the nine suspects are currently in custody, officials said, while one remains at large.

Prosecutors allege the suspects used social media to display items believed to be stolen shortly after the incident.

At the time of the alleged crime, Pooh Shiesty was reportedly on home confinement related to a prior federal firearms conviction.

The case has sent shockwaves through the music industry, particularly given the professional relationship between the two artists.

Pooh Shiesty had previously been signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records imprint, making the allegations especially notable.

Gucci Mane, a prominent figure in hip-hop and a pioneer of trap music, has not publicly commented on the allegations.

Representatives for the accused also have not issued statements as of Thursday.

Federal officials emphasized that violence tied to business disputes will be aggressively prosecuted.
