Mr Charles Jeremy Chan Wing-ho, aged 51, holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the City University of Hong Kong. He furthered his education with a Master of Social Sciences degree in Criminology from the University of Hong Kong. Called to the Hong Kong Bar in 1998, his practice specializes in criminal law. His work places a particular emphasis on white-collar crime and appellate work, areas critical to corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Mr Eugene Yim Wing-tsang, aged 48, obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Laws degree from King’s College London. He was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2001. His practice focuses on family and matrimonial law, serving clients in matters related to domestic legal arrangements and disputes.
Mr Martin Wong Wing-hoi, aged 47, holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Laws degree from Boston University. Called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2004, he maintains a general civil and commercial practice. Within this scope, he has developed a particular interest in medical negligence, a specialized field intersecting healthcare and liability law.
Mr Calvin Cheuk Yuen-cheong, aged 49, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architectural Studies and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Hong Kong. He also holds a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the University of Oxford. Called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2005, he specializes in construction dispute resolution, a key sector for infrastructure and development projects in the region.
Ms Bonnie Cheng Yan-ki, aged 41, holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Government and Laws and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Hong Kong. Her academic credentials include a Master of Science degree in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford and a Master of Laws degree from Harvard University. Called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2011, she has a broad civil practice encompassing general civil and commercial matters, constitutional and administrative law, and matrimonial law.
Mr Charles Simon Hollander, aged 70, studied Classics and Law at King’s College, Cambridge. He commenced practice in England in 1978 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel, now King’s Counsel, in England and Wales in 1999. He was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2015. His practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, bringing decades of international legal experience to the jurisdiction.
Ceremonial Proceedings and Public Access
The appointments will take effect upon the proclamation of the Instruments of Appointment during ceremonial proceedings. At this event, the appointees will be formally called to the Inner Bar. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 10am on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The venue for the proceedings will be the Court of Final Appeal.
In a move to increase transparency and public engagement with the legal process, the Judiciary confirmed that the ceremony will be broadcast live for the public to view.
