ATLANTA — Miles Bridges scored 26 points and Kon Knueppel added 23 as the Charlotte Hornets continued their impressive run, defeating the Atlanta Hawks 126-119 on Saturday night. The victory marks the Hornets’ ninth consecutive win, a feat not achieved by the franchise since the 1998-99 season.

The Hornets’ current win streak is the longest active streak in the NBA. Their performance against the Hawks showcased a well-rounded offensive effort and a commanding presence in rebounding, where they held a 49-30 advantage.
Despite a late push from the Hawks, the Hornets maintained control, closing out the game with strong free-throw shooting. Charlotte went a perfect 16-for-16 from the free-throw line, while Atlanta shot 15-for-17.
Atlanta was led by Jalen Johnson, who put up 31 points, along with nine rebounds and eight assists. Zaccharie Risacher contributed 18 points, and Onyeka Okongwu added 16 for the Hawks, who had previously won six of their last eight games.
The Hawks mounted a challenge in the final minutes, trimming Charlotte’s lead to one point with 26.3 seconds remaining after a dunk by Dyson Daniels and two free throws from Johnson. However, clutch free throws from Ball, Miller, and Bridges sealed the victory for the Hornets.
Charlotte closed the third quarter with a decisive 11-0 run, fueled by Grant Williams’ three-point play and a three-pointer, followed by another three from Tre Mann, giving the Hornets a 98-90 lead heading into the final period.
The Hornets and Hawks are scheduled to meet again on Wednesday night, this time in Charlotte.
Following this game, the Hornets will begin a four-game homestand on Monday night against the Detroit Pistons. The Hawks will travel to Minnesota on Monday night to start a three-game road trip.
