British tennis player Katie Boulter has outlined her aspirations for the 2026 season, emphasizing a desire to return to the top 20 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. Boulter, currently ranked outside the top 30, spoke to BBC Sport in November, detailing her expectations for a new coach and her personal goals.
Seeking Experienced Coaching
Boulter stressed the importance of experience in her next coach, stating, Going forward with a new coach, one thing I’m very clear on is that they are going to be someone who has a lot of experience in how to make it to the very top level of this game.
This suggests a desire for guidance from someone with a proven track record of developing players to achieve elite success.
Ranking Ambitions and Consistency
Having previously reached a career-high ranking of 23, Boulter expressed confidence in her ability to regain that form. I’ve been ranked as high as 23 and I know I can get back there. I don’t think my level has gone anywhere,I think the consistency needs to improve.
She explicitly stated her goal isn’t simply to reach a mid-range ranking, but to break into the top 20.My goal is not to be ranked 50, 40, 30, 20 – we’ve been there. The goal is to be inside 20.
