Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz captured the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters doubles title on April 12, 2026. The German pairing defeated Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic with a score of 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 to secure their second ATP Masters 1000 title as a team.
The match lasted 84 minutes and concluded when Krawietz struck a return winner on match point. This victory marks the first time an all-German team has triumphed in the Principality since Boris Becker and Michael Stich won the title in 1992.
Match Progression and Key Moments
The final began with Arevalo and Pavic taking the first set 6-4. Krawietz and Puetz responded in the second set by breaking serve three times to claim the set 6-2.
A critical turning point occurred at 2-3 in the second set. After losing their own serve, the Germans immediately broke back against the fifth-seeded Arevalo and Pavic, shifting the momentum of the match.
The victory followed a similar pattern to their semi-final performance. On the way to the final, Krawietz and Puetz defeated Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in a 10-8 match tie-break, before repeating the 10-8 scoreline in the final match tie-break.
We broke twice in the second set, so we found some solutions there. The first set we felt comfortable but doubles is so quick and can change in such a quick time. Luckily we came through and won in the end.
Kevin Krawietz
Here’s a great week and a great start to the clay-court season for us, which in the past we haven’t done as well as we would have liked. This is a great tournament and has been a great week for us.
