Women’s Tennis Earns WCC Honors
The LMU women’s tennis team celebrated multiple WCC honors following a home sweep weekend. The team posted back-to-back wins at home, showcasing depth across their lineup.

Men’s Tennis Extends Program Record
The LMU men’s tennis team continued a historic run, extending the program’s best-ever start to a 14-1 record. On March 29, 2026, the No. 58 ranked Lions earned a 4-1 road victory over Saint Mary’s.

This victory pushed the team to a 2-0 start in WCC play, maintaining strong momentum as they compete in the conference.
Beach Volleyball Maintains High Ranking
The LMU beach volleyball program, currently ranked No. 8, demonstrated its dominance in a crosstown matchup on March 21, 2026. The Lions began the contest with four consecutive set wins to defeat Pepperdine.
Baseball Performance and Standings
In baseball, LMU previously secured a three-game road sweep over San Francisco at Benedetti Diamond. The series was highlighted by significant offensive production, including 11 team home runs over three games.
Zion Williams was a standout performer during the series, recording three home runs and eight RBIs. Other key offensive contributions included:
- Beau Ankeney, who hit home runs in back-to-back games and recorded seven hits and five runs scored.
- James Bose, who hit a solo home run in the 11th inning of the final game to break a 6-6 tie.
- Nate Savoie and Colby Wallace, both of whom contributed home runs during the Saturday victory.
The pitching staff also played a critical role in the sweep. Right-hander Zack Mack struck out 10 batters over five innings on Saturday to earn his third win. The bullpen provided six scoreless relief innings on Sunday, with Austin Schroeder and Alex Chavez managing a bases-loaded escape in the bottom of the 11th inning.
Following the sweep of San Francisco, LMU improved to a 19-17 overall record and moved above .500 in WCC play. By April 24, 2025, the team had reached a record of 22-19 overall and 9-6 in the WCC, placing them in a tie for third place with Portland.
The baseball team’s season began with a 5-1 start, which included a sweep of Seattle and victories over Tulane and Long Beach, as well as taking two games from the 2024 WCC Champion Toreros of San Diego.
