The Turkish State Meteorological Service has issued a yellow weather alert for multiple provinces across the country due to expected heavy rainfall, strong winds, and avalanche risks.
According to the Meteorology General Directorate (MGM), severe weather conditions are forecast to affect large parts of Türkiye, with yellow alerts activated for regions including eastern Marmara, the Black Sea, northern and eastern Central Anatolia, and other areas prone to precipitation and wind-related hazards.
The alert warns of heavy rainfall, strong winds, avalanche danger, and dust transport, particularly in elevated and exposed areas. Forecasts indicate widespread cloud cover and intermittent precipitation, with temperatures expected to drop significantly in northern, inland, and eastern regions.
In Istanbul, Muğla, and Antalya, conditions are expected to remain relatively mild and cloudy, while higher elevations in the Eastern Black Sea and northeastern Anatolia may experience mixed rain and snow. Morning and night hours could bring fog and mist to the Marmara, Inner Aegean, and central regions, reducing visibility for drivers.
The MGM advises citizens to take necessary precautions, especially in areas under alert, and to monitor updates as the weather system develops. The warning reflects ongoing seasonal volatility, with authorities emphasizing preparedness for sudden changes in weather patterns across the country.
