Miguel Wilson Commits to Kentucky

Miguel Wilson, a three-star cornerback from Vigor High School in Mobile, Alabama, announced his commitment to the University of Kentucky on April 8, 2026. Wilson made the announcement while on an unofficial visit to the Kentucky campus.

The commitment follows a recruiting process in which Wilson considered several other Power Four offers. He chose the Wildcats over interest from Colorado, NC State, Georgia Tech, and West Virginia.

Wilson is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound defensive back. According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, which is a weighted average utilizing all major recruiting media companies, he is ranked as the No. 83 cornerback in the 2027 cycle.

Nationally, he is listed as the No. 882 overall prospect for the 2027 class. Within his home state of Alabama, Wilson is ranked as the No. 31 player.

Recruitment and Staff Relationships

The Kentucky coaching staff re-offered Wilson in January 2026. The recruit has since developed close ties with the staff in Lexington, including head coach Will Stein and stars coach James Gibson.

Wilson highlighted his frequent communication with the coaching staff in February, stating, I talk to Coach (James) Gibson almost like every day, according to reporting from KSR+.

Wilson also cited a strong connection with Coach Gibson and Coach A.B. Allen Brown.

Wilson plays for Vigor High, a notable football program in Alabama. During his junior season, he recorded four interceptions and 56 total tackles, according to MaxPreps.

The Vigor Wolves finished the previous fall season with 12 wins. The team was ranked as the No. 33 team in Alabama by the Rivals Composite Rankings.

Known by the nickname Seatbelt, Wilson is viewed as a key addition to the Kentucky secondary.

Kentucky 2027 Recruiting Class

Wilson becomes the sixth commitment for the University of Kentucky in the 2027 recruiting cycle. He joins another defensive back already committed to the program.

According to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, the Kentucky 2027 class is currently ranked No. 42 nationally.
