The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in Ireland has identified Ryanair as the most complained-about company during the first half of 2025. According to a report published on August 19, 2025, the airline topped the contact chart with 319 complaints recorded between January and June 2025.

Ryanair was followed by Eir, which received 241 complaints, and Sky, which received 219 complaints. Other companies appearing in the top 10 list of most complained-about firms included Currys, Harvey Norman, Aer Lingus, Vodafone, Lidl, Ticketmaster, DID Electrical, and Love Holidays.

Consumer Complaint Trends and Sector Analysis

A total of 20,526 individuals contacted the CCPC between January and the end of June 2025 via web, email, and phone. The reports indicate that vehicles and transport led the list of sectors with the highest number of complaints.

The primary issues raised by consumers included faulty goods, botched home improvements, and poor online shopping experiences. The reported total value of the goods and services associated with these complaints reached €56 million.

Financial data from the report shows that the average amount of money at stake per complaint was well in excess of €6,000, with an average spend on the disputed products or services calculated at €6,400.

The highest average spend was recorded in the vehicles and transport sector at €18,716. This was followed by home building and improvements, where the average spend was €13,443.

Ticketmaster Ranking Shift

Ticketmaster saw a significant improvement in its ranking with the consumer watchdog during the first six months of 2025. The company recorded 117 complaints in this period.

Ticketmaster Ranking Shift

This represents a sharp decline compared to the previous report published in January 2025, which noted that Ticketmaster had over 600 complaints over the course of 2024. The high volume of complaints in 2024 was largely attributed to the dynamic ticket pricing model used for Oasis concerts at Croke Park in September 2024.

Comparative Watchdog Activity

While the CCPC manages consumer complaints in Ireland, other watchdogs have focused on different corporate and industry risks. In the United States, Consumer Watchdog has published reports on various corporate practices and public safety concerns.

Recent investigations by Consumer Watchdog include a March 17, 2026, report regarding Uber’s rollout of robocars and its impact on public safety, as well as a January 23, 2026, analysis of property insurance and the subcontracting industry.

Other reported areas of concern from the U.S.-based organization include the use of artificial intelligence on Wall Street, automatic decision-making and discrimination, and the impact of connected cars on consumer privacy.
