Leeds-based jungle artist Nia Archives has announced her second studio album, Emotional Junglist, scheduled for release on July 24, 2026, via Island Records. The announcement coincides with the release of a new single, Boys In Blue, and a full tracklist for the upcoming project.

The new record follows her 2024 debut, Silence Is Loud, which earned a Mercury Prize nomination and critical acclaim. To develop the sound of Emotional Junglist, Archives collaborated with a diverse group of producers, including James Ford, known for his work with Blur and Arctic Monkeys, as well as Julia Michaels and Ethan P. Flynn.

The album will also feature guest appearances from Sampha and Jorja Smith, adding further vocal depth to the jungle-influenced production.

Exploring the Themes of ‘Boys In Blue’

The lead single, Boys In Blue, is described as a pulsing, poppy track that addresses a recent separation. In the song, Archives uses the imagery of a police officer to frame her former partner.

The lyrical content takes a direct approach to the fallout of the relationship, with Archives singing: So go ahead and call the feds / You’ve lost it now, you’re out your head / To think that we once shared a bed / Now you’re tryna get me nicked instead.

This release follows another recent single titled Danger, which Archives used to first tease the vulnerability and raw emotion that permeate the new album. A music video for Boys In Blue, directed by Iris Luz, has also been released to accompany the track.

Evolution from ‘Silence Is Loud’

The transition to Emotional Junglist marks a shift in Archives’ personal and creative state. In a previous interview with NME, the artist expressed a desire to create a project that reflected a more positive period of her life compared to the era of her debut.

“I’ve already made a few songs, so I’m just excited to create a better album than I did last time. I’m a bit happier than I was [with ‘Silence Is Loud’], so hopefully it’s a happier album than before.”

Her debut effort, Silence Is Loud, was praised for its ability to balance complex production with vocal confidence. NME’s review of the debut noted that Archives no longer hides her voice behind her wicked production skills, describing the work as a rich, self-reflective record that shows the artist beyond the beats.

Upcoming Performances and Tour Dates

Archives is currently supporting the album announcement with a series of sold-out live dates. This run began on May 1, 2026, in Leeds, and continues with a performance at London’s Hackney Church on May 8, 2026, followed by a show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York on May 21, 2026.
