Nothing is preparing to launch its Phone 4a series, and CEO Carl Pei has seemingly confirmed the launch date in a rather unconventional way.

While the tech world’s attention is currently focused on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 series, other companies are also gearing up for significant announcements. Apple has announced an event for March 4, where We see expected to unveil the iPhone 17e, a more affordable entry into the Apple ecosystem, and a lower-cost MacBook. However, Nothing is aiming to steal some of Apple’s thunder with its own launch event.

Pei shared an image on X that digitally “vandalizes” Apple’s event invite. The Apple logo is crossed out and replaced with the Nothing logo, accompanied by “March 5” handwritten over the original event date, strongly suggesting a launch event on March 5.

Early leaks suggest that Nothing could unveil both the Phone 4a and a Phone 4a Pro model on March 5, 2026. The company has already indicated that it will not be launching a new flagship phone this year, positioning the 4a series as its primary smartphone offering for 2026.

Information gleaned from leaks points to potential updates including a redesigned camera setup and modifications to the Glyph interface – the signature light-up pattern on the back of Nothing phones. The chipset, however, is expected to be a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, suggesting a focus on refinement rather than a significant performance leap. The Phone 4a series is also expected to feature UFS 3.1 storage and a Full-HD+ 120Hz LTPS AMOLED display.

The Phone 4a is anticipated to include a 5,300mAh battery with 50W charging capabilities and a triple-rear camera system. These specifications suggest a mid-range positioning, aiming to deliver a compelling feature set at a competitive price point.

Nothing’s marketing strategy has been…unconventional, to say the least. Prior to this latest teaser, the company released promotional materials featuring a condom and pills, leaving many to speculate about their meaning. This latest move, directly targeting Apple’s event, continues that trend of disruptive and attention-grabbing marketing.

The choice to launch the Phone 4a series immediately following Apple’s event is a deliberate one, positioning Nothing as a direct competitor in the mid-range smartphone market. It also highlights the company’s willingness to challenge established industry norms and embrace a more playful and provocative brand identity.
