The Casinò di Campione d’Italia has initiated a significant legal battle via an arbitration procedure at the Milan Chamber of Arbitration, seeking over 750 million euros in damages from former administrators who served until 2018.

The legal action aims to recover funds following the financial collapse and subsequent concordat of the gaming house. According to reports from October 16, 2025, the arbitration request is based on an expert report commissioned by the Casinò di Campione Spa.

The arbitration targets several former administrators and auditors, alleging they were co-responsible for the financial distress of the institution. The requested compensation amounts vary significantly among the individuals named in the proceedings.

• Mauro Piazza, a Regional Undersecretary for Autonomy and Relations with the Regional Council, is facing a claim of approximately 80 million euros.
• Laura Bordoli, a former councilwoman, is also being asked for 80 million euros.
• Antonio Pasquini, the Mayor of Casargo and a Provincial Councilor, is targeted for approximately 29.4 million euros.
• Other administrators and auditors, including Giorgio Berna, Giorgio Colato, and Eugenio Mascheroni, face claims ranging between 27 and 80 million euros.

The claim is rooted in the management of the casino starting from the 2011 financial year. The expert report suggests that the social bodies of the casino were aware of the severe crisis facing the company during this period.

The report contends that administrators failed to implement decisive corporate restructuring, specifically regarding personnel costs and contributions paid to the Municipality. It alleges a lack of real recapitalization efforts, meaning there was an absence of financial resource contributions from the shareholders.
