Google has expanded access to its AI-powered marketing tool Pomelli to small businesses across Europe, making it available in English in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland starting April 21, 2026.

The tool, developed as an experiment from Google Labs in partnership with Google DeepMind, helps small and medium-sized businesses generate on-brand marketing content without requiring external design agencies or specialized software.

Pomelli operates through a three-step process: first, it analyzes a business’s website to understand its brand identity, including tone of voice, color palette, fonts, and visual style; second, it suggests custom campaign ideas or accepts user-provided prompts; and third, it generates editable images and video assets for use across social media, websites, and advertising platforms.

The platform includes specialized features such as “Photoshoot,” which enhances basic product photographs into polished marketing images, and “Animate,” which uses Google’s Veo 3.1 video model to convert static visuals into short branded videos.

While generated assets can be downloaded directly from the tool, users must manually upload them to social media platforms, as Pomelli does not currently include direct publishing or scheduling integrations.

The expansion follows Pomelli’s initial public beta launch in October 2025 in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Google confirmed that the tool remains free during its beta phase, with no announcement yet regarding pricing for future paid tiers.

Google states that the rollout targets a significant market opportunity, noting that European small businesses collectively spend over €200 billion annually on digital advertising, representing a major untapped area for AI-powered marketing automation.

The company positions Pomelli as part of its broader effort to democratize generative AI for commercial use, competing with existing AI-native marketing platforms such as Jasper and Copy.ai, as well as Meta’s Advantage+ campaigns, which have gained traction among European SMBs.

Google’s Keyword blog announced the European availability, citing regulatory considerations as a prior factor that had delayed the tool’s release in the region.
