Roger Waters has announced an open audition for a lead singer to front a new project titled Roger Waters Presents LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show Performed by the Harry Waters Band
. The tour, planned for 2027, will be led by the former Pink Floyd bassist’s son, Harry Waters.
The production is designed as a tribute to the music from the golden era of Pink Floyd, with the possibility of including a small number of songs from Roger Waters’ subsequent solo work. The project is being promoted with the tagline, The Father’s Legacy, the Son’s Band
.
Search for a Specific Vocal Range
In a statement released via his social media channels, the elder Waters explained that while Harry Waters has assembled a band and a show, they are missing a vocalist capable of replicating the specific vocal qualities Waters possessed early in his career.
My son Harry Waters has put a great band and show together to go on the road next year to pay tribute to the music from the golden era of Pink Floyd, and maybe a couple of songs from my subsequent solo career. Harry’s band is missing one thing: The voice I had when I was young. Back in the day, I could sing everything from the soft urgency of ‘Hello, is there anybody in there?’ from ‘Comfortably Numb,’ to the high-pitched scream of ‘You know how I need you to beat to a pulp on a Saturday night’ from ‘Don’t Leave Me Now.’ Can you do that? Are you that missing voice? If you are, this is your chance.
Roger Waters
Waters reiterated in a video message that the band requires someone who can sing everything he was able to perform 50 years ago, emphasizing the need for a singer who can handle both haunting, soft lines and intense, high-pitched moments.
Band Composition and Audition Process
The Harry Waters Band will feature Harry on keyboards and organ, and Graham Broad on drums. The project aims to deliver a legacy show featuring classic Pink Floyd hits intended for multiple generations of listeners.
Aspiring vocalists are invited to submit an audition tape through the official website of Harry Waters. The deadline for these submissions is April 30, 2026. While the tour is planned for 2027, specific tour dates have not yet been announced.
Family and Professional Context
The collaboration marks a new chapter for Harry Waters, who previously spent 14 years as a member of his father’s touring band. That tenure ended in 2016 when Harry was let go from the group, an event he later described as unexpected and painful.
Since leaving his father’s touring ensemble, Harry Waters has continued his musical career, which included performing with other bands that play Pink Floyd material. Through the Legacy project, he returns to the music of Pink Floyd as the leader of his own band.
