The Seattle Torrent are concluding their inaugural 2025-26 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) regular season with a series of scheduled home games at Climate Pledge Arena. The team is set to play its final regular season home game on April 25, 2026, against the MontrĂ©al Victoire, with the matchup scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. PT.
Prior to the season finale, the Torrent will host a home game on April 18, 2026, which is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. PT. This upcoming game will feature the sale of exclusive T-shirts created in partnership with Togethxr, a project that debuted during the team’s initial appearances at Madison Square Garden and TD Garden.
The team’s recent schedule included a road game on April 14, 2026, against the Vancouver Goldeneyes at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia. This game was broadcast locally in the Seattle-Tacoma DMA on FOX 13+ and streamed via the PWHL YouTube channel and thepwhl.com for viewers outside of Canada.
Inaugural Season and Team Development
The Seattle Torrent entered the PWHL as one of two expansion teams for the 2025-26 season, alongside the Vancouver Goldeneyes. The franchise was officially announced by the league on April 30, 2025, becoming the eighth team in the PWHL.
The team is owned by the Mark Walter Group and is led by General Manager Meghan Turner and Head Coach Steve O’Rourke. Hilary Knight serves as the team captain. The organization operates out of Climate Pledge Arena, sharing the venue with the National Hockey League’s Seattle Kraken and the WNBA’s Seattle Storm.
The Seattle Kraken were part of the bidding group for the expansion team, alongside arena operator Oak View Group, and continue to provide assistance in business operations and marketing for the Torrent.
The team’s visual identity draws inspiration from the waterways and sports heritage of Seattle. The official color palette includes slate green, river blue, glacier blue, foam, haze grey, and basalt black. Other descriptions of the team’s colors include emerald green and cream, which are noted as being similar to those of the Seattle Storm.
Broadcast and Accessibility
For the 2025-26 season, the PWHL established a local broadcast partnership to ensure accessibility for fans in the Seattle-Tacoma DMA. FOX 13+ (channel 22.1/cable 110) serves as the primary home for the team, televising 24 of the Torrent’s games. These games are also available for streaming via FOX LOCAL.
The remaining six games of the regular season were scheduled to be televised on KONG. This strategy was described by PWHL Executive Vice President of Business Operations Amy Scheer as a move toward accessibility rather than exclusivity.
Historical Context and Performance
The establishment of the Torrent follows a period of significant interest in women’s professional hockey in the region. In January 2025, Seattle hosted a league game during the Takeover Tour, where the Boston Fleet played the Montreal Victoire at Climate Pledge Arena before a crowd of 12,608.
Seattle also previously held a record for the highest attendance at a non-college women’s hockey game in the United States, drawing 14,551 spectators for a 2022 Rivalry Series game between the women’s national teams of the United States and Canada.
Throughout the 2025-26 season, the Torrent have competed against several league opponents, including the Ottawa Sens, New York teams, Toronto, and Boston. The team began its first season on the road against the Vancouver Goldeneyes before playing its home opener against the Minnesota Frost at Climate Pledge Arena on November 28, 2025.
