Southern Section Boys Volleyball Playoffs: First Round Results – Division 1

The CIF Southern Section boys volleyball playoffs commenced on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, with first-round matches across multiple divisions. Several teams secured their place in the next round, while others saw their seasons come to an end. Results from Division 1 through Division 5 were reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Division 1 Results

In Division 1, Mira Costa received a bye into the next round. Tesoro defeated Los Alamitos with scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-17. Corona del Mar achieved a 3-0 victory over Mater Dei. Huntington Beach also received a bye. Loyola also advanced without playing a match. Newport Harbor defeated Millikan 25-8, 25-13, and 25-19. Santa Margarita won 3-0 against San Marcos, and Redondo Union also advanced with a bye.

Division 2 & 3 Results

Division 2 saw Camarillo defeat Anaheim Canyon 25-21, 25-17, and 25-18. In Division 3, Palos Verdes defeated Corona Centennial 3-1. Sage Hill won against Malibu, also by a score of 3-1. Valencia defeated La Palma Kennedy 25-12, 25-20, and 25-20. Claremont secured a 3-1 win over Murrieta Valley. Corona Santiago defeated Mark Keppel 3-2, and Eastvale Roosevelt won against Downey 3-1.

Further Division 3 & 4 Results

Bishop Montgomery defeated South Torrance 3-2, while St. John Bosco won 3-1 against Woodbridge. Mission Viejo defeated Paloma Valley 25-20, 25-15, and 25-18. Santa Ana Foothill won 3-0 against Canyon Country Canyon, and Servite achieved a 3-0 victory over Wiseburn Da Vinci. Santa Barbara defeated Diamond Ranch 3-1. A match between Westlake and Trabuco Hills was also scheduled. Crescenta Valley defeated North Torrance 25-18, 25-15, and 25-21. Saugus won a close match against Newbury Park, with scores of 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, and 30-28. Windward defeated South Pasadena 3-0.

Division 5 & 6 Results

In Division 5, Dos Pueblos defeated Aquinas 21-25, 20-25, 25-15, 25-11, and 15-13. Hemet defeated Summit 3-2, and Oak Park won against Damien 25-22, 26-24, and 25-16. El Dorado defeated San Dimas 3-1, and Westminster La Quinta won against Garden Grove Pacifica 3-2. Bishop Diego defeated Rio Hondo Prep 25-22, 25-22, and 31-29. Brea Olinda defeated Aliso Niguel 26-24, 16-25, 25-21, and 29-27. Norco defeated Cajon 23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 12-25, and 15-13.

Bellflower defeated Crespi 25-16, 25-22, and 25-15. El Rancho defeated San Gabriel Academy 3-1, and Ventura defeated Vista del Lago 25-14, 25-18, and 25-21. Flintridge Prep defeated Castaic 3-0, and St. Anthony defeated Oxford Academy 3-0. Orange County Pacifica Christian defeated Etiwanda 25-16, 25-16, and 25-19. Ontario Christian also secured a victory.

Additional Division 4 Results

According to a separate report from Yahoo Sports, Tuesday’s first-round matches in Division 2 included Orange Lutheran defeating Beckman 3-1 and Fountain Valley defeating Hillcrest 3-1. San Clemente defeated San Juan Hills 3-2, and St. Margaret’s defeated Cypress 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 23-25, and 18-16. Yorba Linda defeated Burbank Burroughs 17-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, and 15-12. Arcadia defeated Vista Murrieta 3-0, and Edison defeated Beaumont 3-0.

In Division 4, Bolsa Grande defeated Quartz Hill 22-25, 25-16, 25-15, and 25-23. Village Christian defeated Simi Valley 25-22, 25-23, 23-25, and 25-19. Long Beach Poly defeated Dana Hills 22-25, 25-22, 10-25, 25-22, and 15-7. Chino Hills defeated Riverside North 22-25, 25-19, 26-24, and 25-21. Temple City defeated Agoura 26-24, 16-25, 35-33, and 25-13. Warren defeated Riverside King 3-0, and Liberty defeated Irvine 29-27, 28-26, and 25-13.

Royal defeated Lancaster 3-0, and Sunny Hills defeated Santa Monica 25-17, 26-24, and 25-14. Oaks Christian defeated St. Monica 25-20, 22-25, 25-17, and 28-26. Elsinore defeated Redlands 3-1, and Northwood defeated California 3-0. Los Altos defeated Los Osos 3-1, and Crossroads defeated La Serna 3-0. San Marino defeated Woodcrest Christian 25-21, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-14. Harvard-Westlake defeated Santa Ana Valley 3-0.
