Theatre Epidaure: Family Comedy Shows in Bouloire

Théâtre Epidaure in Bouloire is expanding its cultural outreach through a series of off-site family performances designed to engage younger audiences and their families.

According to reporting from Ouest-France, the association has programmed two family shows for the final quarter, utilizing a hors les murs or off-site approach to bring performing arts directly into the community.

One of these verified productions, A l’envers, à l’endroit, is scheduled to take place on April 8, 2026. The performance will be presented by the Swiss company Compagnie La Bocca della Luna.

This specific event will be held in Le Breil-sur-Mérize, moving the production away from the primary venue in Bouloire to increase regional accessibility.

The initiative is part of a broader effort by Théâtre Epidaure to make the performing arts more accessible through multidisciplinary cultural seasons and a variety of outreach activities throughout the region.

Venue and Management

Théâtre Epidaure is located at 1 rue de la Grosse Pierre in Bouloire. The venue is a former hospice that has been converted into a cosy multidisciplinary theatre with a seating capacity of 160.

Since 2009, the management of the theatre has been entrusted to Cie Jamais 203 by the Communauté de Communes du Pays Bilurien.

The theatre serves as a hub for creation and the exchange of ideas, focusing on bringing diverse artistic experiences to a rural setting.
