Trump Phone Returns: New Design, Gold Finish, and 50MP Camera

Trump Mobile has unveiled a redesigned version of the Trump T1 smartphone, featuring a revised aesthetic and updated technical specifications. The device, which maintains a signature gold finish, has undergone several design iterations since its initial announcement, moving away from early promotional concepts to a more conventional mid-range hardware profile.

The latest version of the T1 replaces the previously planned triangular camera layout with a vertical stack of three lenses housed within a round black island. While the gold color remains a central element of the design, the specific shade is described as darker than the original version. The rear panel includes a clear American flag insignia at the bottom, followed by the Trump Mobile logo.

According to reports from Notebookcheck, the Trump T1 appears to be a modified version of the HTC U24 Pro from 2024. This assessment is based on the alignment of the device’s design and advertised specifications with the HTC model.

Technical Specifications

The current specifications for the Trump T1 include a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This marks a return to a larger screen size after previous iterations had fluctuated between 6.8 inches and 6.25 inches.

The hardware configuration consists of the following components:

• Processor: An unspecified Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series chipset.
• Storage: 512GB of internal storage.
• Battery: A 5,000mAh battery supporting 30W charging.
• Operating System: Android 15.

The camera system features a 50MP main rear camera, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For front-facing photos, the device is equipped with a 50MP selfie camera.

Launch History and Availability

The Trump T1 has been characterized by a series of delays and shifting launch targets. While original plans aimed for a summer 2025 release, those timelines were not met. The device was officially launched in June 2025 and became available for pre-order at a price of $499, requiring a $100 deposit.

Despite the official launch in June 2025, a confirmed delivery date for pre-order customers had not been established as of April 2026. Recent updates from Trump Mobile executives Don Hendrickson and Eric Thomas indicated that mid-March 2026 was the target for carrier approvals, with shipments to deposit-holders expected shortly thereafter.

The product’s trajectory has been marked by contradictions regarding its origin and design. Although initially advertised as being manufactured in the USA, reporting indicates the device is not produced domestically. Some early claims suggested the design was based on a gold version of the iPhone 16 Pro or Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, though the current production units align more closely with mid-range hardware.

The latest design changes, spotted by The Verge and reflected on the official product page, remove the T1 logo and the brushed gold effect found in early prototypes. The camera bump now features an oval-like shape with Trump Mobile wording integrated into the housing.
