US Oil Blockade Sparks Tensions in Strait of Hormuz

U.S. Central Command announced on April 29, 2026, that a naval blockade targeting Iranian oil exports has successfully prevented the sale of 69 million barrels of oil across 41 tankers.

The command described the blockade as highly effective and stated that U.S. Forces remain committed to total enforcement of the operation.

Iranian Military Response

Following the announcement, a senior Iranian military official warned U.S. And allied forces regarding a weapon he claimed adversaries are deeply afraid of, noting that the asset is located right next to them [too].

The official further asserted that Iran would take operational action without delay should opposing forces move any closer.

Diplomatic and Political Condemnation

On April 30, 2026, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei responded to the situation, asserting that Iran intends to dismantle the hostile enemy’s abuses of this waterway, referring to the Strait of Hormuz.

The legal rules and the exercise of the new management of the Strait of Hormuz will bring about comfort and progress to the benefit of all nations in the region, and its economic blessing will gladden the nation’s heart.
