Ukrainian Forces Reportedly Withdraw from Key donbas Town
KURAKHOVO, Ukraine - Intense fighting in eastern Ukraine has reportedly led too teh withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the strategically crucial town of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk region.
Julian Röpcke,an analyst with the German publication BILD,made the claim on X (formerly Twitter),stating that Ukrainian troops were forced to retreat due to a shortage of manpower.
“Once again, the Ukrainian army was forced to leave a city due to a lack of manpower,” Röpcke wrote. “Russians now occupy Kurakhovo, whose infrastructure has largely remained intact. Ukraine will now have to bomb thousands of potential shelters from a distance…”
Röpcke’s post included a photograph purportedly showing Russian forces in control of Kurakhovo.
The situation in Kurakhovo highlights the ongoing fierce battles in the Donbas region, where both ukrainian and Russian forces are engaged in a grueling war of attrition.
Neither Ukrainian nor Russian officials have officially confirmed the reported withdrawal from Kurakhovo.
