Five people were injured during a concert performed by Angham at the Arena stage in New Cairo on May 16, 2026. The incident occurred when a support beam from the lighting system suddenly fell onto the stage floor.

According to reporting by OKAZ, the falling equipment caused a partial collapse of the stands designated for the audience. This development led to the immediate suspension of the concert after only two songs had been performed.

Angham withdrew from the stage temporarily to allow organizers to handle the emergency and ensure the safety of all attendees. The proceedings of the event were fully suspended while the situation was managed.

The company responsible for managing the event called for emergency medical teams to provide necessary care to the audience and to verify that there were no further injuries or structural damages at the site.

The injuries were reported to have occurred during a period of tension and crowding as members of the audience attempted to exit the theater. The crowd size for the performance was estimated to be approximately 10,000 people.

Organizers took rapid measures to control the environment and repair the theater’s security and safety systems to protect the remaining public.

Despite the disruption, the event featured a musical collaboration between Angham and Maestro Hany Farhat. The duo’s performance was described as a successful partnership during the concert.

During the performance, attendees were observed singing along with Angham during the song Sibtli Albi.
